2/25/21 GOVERNOR ABBOTT, TDEM LAUNCH CALL CENTER TO ASSIST TEXANS WITH TEXAS INDIVIDUAL ASSISTANCE REPORTING TOOL
Texans can call 844-844-3089 between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., 7 days a week to submit their disaster damage information. This call center is specifically for Texans who are unable to submit information through the online tool.  If needed, a state emergency management professional will visit impacted homes to collect photos and documentation of damage for the validation process. 

2/24/21 PRESS RELEASE - INDIVIDUAL ASSISTANCE REPORTING DAMAGE
Lee County has at this time not met the disaster threshold required by FEMA for individual Assistance for its residents. In an effort to reach this we are requesting all businesses, companies, schools, organizations and individuals that have experienced loss due to the winter storms complete a TDEM survey at tdem.texas.gov/warming-centering or contact 844-844-3089 if you need assistance in filling out the form. Lee County Office Procedures
Beginning at 8:00 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2020 all Lee County buildings will be open to the general public. Social distancing guidelines and hygiene rules will be enacted and enforced.

Courthouse will have the Southeast Entrance open to the public. 

Lee County Indigent Health Care Office - Clients will be seen by appointment only.  To schedule an appointment call (979)542-3101.

Lee County Jail: All visitation to the county jail is suspended until further notice, with the exception of attorneys and law enforcement. 

County Court: COURT PROCEEDINGS will be held according to the COVID-19 Operating Plan for the Lee County Judiciary signed May 26, 2020 by the presiding judges of the 21st & 335th Judicial District Courts and County Judge. Please contact the County Clerk's office at 979-542-3684 or sharon.blasig@co.lee.tx.us if you have any questions regarding court proceedings. 

Jury Trials: No jury trials in any courts before May 8, 2020.

District Court:  Regular Business Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am-12pm & 1pm-5pm. Social distancing will be observed.
Passport applications acceptance will be temporarily suspended.

COURT PROCEEDINGS will be held according to the COVID-19 Operating Plan for the Lee County Judiciary signed May 26, 2020 by the presiding judges of the 21st & 335th Judicial District Courts and the RE-Certification of In-Person Operating Plan for Lee County, Texas signed January 8, 2021.

JP Offices: As long as the Emergency Order are in effect. No criminal court in April.  Only the cases listed as "essential court proceedings" by the Texas Supreme Court will be addressed.  The time line for answering citations and lawsuits have been relaxed. Offices are accepting filings thru the mail, also thru email and telephone.

Tax Office (Giddings): The office will open Monday, May 4, 2020 to the public. There is a drop box labeled "Tax Office" and "Appraisal Office" that is available by the front entrance to the building if you feel uncomfortable about coming into the office. There will be a hand sanitizing station setup when you enter the building. WE ARE REQUESTING THAT YOU ABIDE BY THE SOCIAL DISTANCING PRACTICES PUT OUT BY THE CDC. WE ALSO ASK FOR YOUR PATIENCE WHILE YOU ARE IN OUR OFFICE. Please contact the Tax Office at 979-542-2640 or dmatthijetz@co.lee.tx.us if you have any questions.

Tax Office (Lexington): The drive thru is located on the North side of the building, available to the public.  PLEASE DO NOT TRY ENTERING THE TAX OFFICE THROUGH THE JP#3 ENTRANCE. THE TAX OFFICE LOBBY IS CLOSED. Please contact the office at 979-773-2266 if you have any questions.
