FREE COVID-19 TESTING (DECEMBER 16 & 17, 2020)
Free COVID-19 testing is coming to our community. No appointment is necessary. Testing will be held on Wednesday, December 16th from 10 am to 7 pm at the Woodson Community Center, 631 Rockdale Street, Lexington TX and on Thursday, December 17th from 10 am to 7 pm at the American Legion Hall, 1502 South Hwy 77, Giddings Texas. The following Lee County Offices are closed due to COVID-19 quarantine:

*Election Administration Office
The offices can re-open on November 23, 2020.
Giddings Tax Office Information:
Lexington Office is open. Vehicle Registration can be done online at TXDMV.gov. Vehicle titles will be done once the office is re-opened. Taxes can be paid by mail or online at leetax.org and click on the certified payments icon to make a payment. There is also a drop box in front of the office doors marked Tax Office and Appraisal Office.
Lee County Clerk's Office:
We will be available for filings or other time sensitive matters by appointment only. If you need immediate assistance please call (979)542-3684 and we will set up an appointment to meet with you.
Lee County Elections Office:
In case of an emergency, you can call the Elections office at (979)540-2731 and leave a message.

Beginning at 8:00 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2020 all Lee County buildings will be open to the general public. Social distancing guidelines and hygiene rules will be enacted and enforced.
Courthouse will have the Southeast Entrance open to the public.
Lee County Indigent Health Care Office - Clients will be seen by appointment only. To schedule an appointment call (979)542-3101.
Lee County Jail: All visitation to the county jail is suspended until further notice, with the exception of attorneys and law enforcement.
County Court: COURT PROCEEDINGS will be held according to the COVID-119 Operating Plan for the Lee County Judiciary signed May 26, 2020 by the presiding judges of the 21st & 335th Judicial District Courts and County Judge. Jury Trials: No jury trials in any courts before May 8, 2020.
District Court: Regular Business Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am-12pm & 1pm-5pm. Social distancing will be observed.
Passport applications acceptance will be temporarily suspended.

JP Offices: As long as the Emergency Order are in effect. No criminal court in April. Only the cases listed as "essential court proceedings" by the Texas Supreme Court will be addressed. The time line for answering citations and lawsuits have been relaxed. No one will have a hold on their license for failing to contact the court by their due date. There will be no violation of promise to appear and no one will be forwarded to collections.

Tax Office (Giddings): The office will open Monday, May 4, 2020 to the public. There is a drop box labeled "Tax Office" and "Appraisal Office" that is available by the front entrance to the building if you feel uncomfortable about coming into the office. There will be a hand sanitizing station setup when you enter the building. WE ARE REQUESTING THAT YOU ABIDE BY THE SOCIAL DISTANCING PRACTICES PUT OUT BY THE CDC. Tax Office (Lexington): The drive thru is located on the North side of the building, available to the public. PLEASE DO NOT TRY ENTERING THE TAX OFFICE THROUGH THE JP#3 ENTRANCE. THE TAX OFFICE LOBBY IS CLOSED. Please contact the office at 979-773-2266 if you have any questions.

COVID-19 CALL CENTER - Lee County, the City of Giddings, and the City of Lexington, have opened a call center to provide a single source of information and resources during the Covid-19 crisis for Lee County citizens.
The call center opens at 8:00 a.m. on Friday April 3 and will be operated by county or city staff and officials.
Lee County residents can call the call center number at 866-686-7873. Calls will be answered between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Callers may leave a message and have a representative return their call if the call is not answered.
Callers with questions about the COVID-19 disaster declaration and executive orders should call this number instead of directly calling the City of Giddings, the City of Lexington, or Lee County. Calls may be forwarded to other agencies or resources if necessary.
For emergencies you should still call 911.
The County provides updates of new cases as we receive them from DSHS.
